The Grand Ducal Police have reported that an inspection targeting grocery stores and fast food outlets recently took place in various municipalities in the central and south-eastern regions of Luxembourg.
The police carried out the joint inspection on Friday 25 April 2025 in collaboration with the Customs and Excise Agency and the Inspectorate of Labour and Mines (ITM).
During the inspection of one grocery store, approximately 600 kilogrammes of food products – including fish, meat, vegetables and spices – were found with issues relating to storage conditions, labelling, traceability and invoicing. The food items were subsequently confiscated.
In addition, certain alcoholic beverages were found not to have been properly labelled.
