Luxembourg’s Customs and Excise Agency have announced the arrest of a man following a drug seizure during a routine train inspection.
On Friday 11 April 2025, the drug-detecting dog "Chase", attached to the agency’s canine unit, alerted it to a suspicious male passenger.
The man unsuccessfully attempted to conceal the drugs he was carrying from the officers. During the subsequent inspection, the agency confiscated approximately 40 grammes of cocaine, eleven ecstasy tablets, small amounts of hashish and marijuana, as well as two mobile phones from the suspect.
On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, the man was arrested and brought before a judge, who ordered him to be remanded in custody.
The investigation revealed that the individual was illegally residing in the Schengen area and had been, according to the French authorities, banned from entering the Schengen area.
