The City of Esch-sur-Alzette and Eyca Luxembourg have announced the launch of the Carte Jeunes Esch, what they describe as an unprecedented initiative in Luxembourg developed in collaboration with Carte Jeunes Luxembourg, a member of the European Youth Card Association (EYCA). 

Aimed at young people aged 12 - 30 years of age, this free card offers exclusive access to over 20,000 discounts and benefits across 40 European countries, alongside tailored local offers.

A National First for Luxembourg

With this ground-breaking initiative, Esch-sur-Alzette becomes the first municipality in Luxembourg to join the EYCA network — demonstrating its commitment to youth empowerment. This bold step strengthens the city's position as a key player in creating opportunities for young people both locally and at the European level.

One Card, Countless Opportunities

The Carte Jeunes Esch unlocks a wide range of benefits for the city’s youth:
• Local Offers: Partnerships with local businesses, cultural institutions and community organisations provide exclusive advantages to residents.
• Community Engagement: The card encourages young people to actively participate in local life, granting them privileged access to initiatives run by Esch’s Youth Service and its partners.

Marie-Ange Neu, European Youth Card Project Manager, said: "this innovative project aims to promote youth mobility, cultural access and quality leisure time, while also connecting Esch’s youth with a broader European network of over 9 million cardholders through EYCA".

How to Get the Card

All eligible young residents of Esch have received a personal letter containing a QR code, allowing them to activate their card via an online platform.

The Carte Jeunes Esch is entirely free and fully digital, accessible through a dedicated mobile app.

From registration to accessing information and advantages, everything is now conveniently available on smartphones.
