The Grand Ducal Police have reported that they arrested a motorist who fled the police during a traffic check in Ettelbruck on Wednesday 9 April 2025.
At approximately 17:45 on Wednesday, a police chase ensued when a driver tried to evade a traffic check in Ettelbruck.
During the attempted escape, the driver collided with a parked vehicle in Niederfeulen. When officers approached the vehicle, the motorist drove off in the direction of Heiderscheid, slightly injuring both officers with the vehicle.
On the stretch between Eschdorf and Hierheck, the motorist attempted to force a patrol car off the road, resulting in a collision. Several police officers were taken to hospital following the crash.
A subsequent investigation revealed that there were several police reports against the driver, who was also subject to a driving ban. Officers also confiscated a large amount of cash and drugs from the vehicle.
By order of the public prosecutor, the suspect was arrested and was set to appear before an investigating judge on the afternoon of Thursday 10 April 2025.
The N12 between Eschdorf and Hierheck was closed for the duration of the operation.
