The Grand Ducal Police has confirmed that they arrested a suspected drug dealer in Esch-sur-Alzette on Saturday 29 March 2025.
The arrest took place late on Saturday evening: a police patrol on Avenue de la Gare in Esch-Alzette noticed a man who, upon seeing the officers, walked briskly toward Rue Ernie Reitz. The officers then decided to stop him when they saw him making suspicious swallowing movements.
While attempting to stop the man, he rebelled against the officers who eventually immobilised him. They confiscated a total of eighteen balls of cocaine from the suspect.
They informed the public prosecutor's office who ordered a scanner test, which was positive, i.e. it showed that he had swallowed one or more balls of cocaine.
The police officers arrested the suspect and brought him before a judge on the morning of Sunday 30 March 2025.
