Luxembourg's Prison Administration has reported that an incident occurred on Sunday 30 March 2025 involving an inmate who attacked a prison officer at the Luxembourg Penitentiary in Schrassig.
The incident happened around noon and prison officers on site intervened to secure the assaulted officer. Subsequently, two prison officers were injured, one of whom was taken to hospital for a check-up and later released, while the second officer's condition did not require any specific medical attention. The inmate also underwent a medical check-up.
The prison authorities informed the public prosecutor's office, and the Grand Ducal Police attended the scene.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the assault is ongoing.
