On Tuesday 4 March 2025, the Grand Ducal Police reported the recent arrest of a man suspected of being involved in blowing up an ATM machine in Esch-sur-Sûre in March 2022.
The investigation into the explosion of the ATM, during which perpetrators stole money from the machine, involved the close cooperation of the Luxembourg judicial and police authorities with their colleagues from several European countries. As a result, the Italian authorities recently arrested one of the suspects.
On Thursday 27 February 2025, the Italian authorities extradited the suspected perpetrator to Luxembourg.
