On Friday 14 February 2025, the Customs and Excise Agency reported that one of its sniffer dogs discovered a large amount of undeclared cash at Luxembourg Airport last month.

During a baggage check at the airport in January 2025, sniffer dog Kobe barked at a suitcase in which around €260,000 were hidden. During a subsequent check, customs officers confiscated an additional €20,000 from the traveller.

The discovery was reported to the public prosecutor's office, which handed the case over to the judicial police for further investigation.

The Customs and Excise Agency said this incident also highlighted the effective cooperation between customs and the police.
