On Friday 14 February 2025, a worker was fatally injured in a workplace accident at the Luxembourg Airport Cargo Center in Senningerberg; the incident took place at about 08:00.
The Grand Ducal Police reported that the 32-year-old man suffered serious injuries in the accident. The victim received emergency medical treatment on site before being taken to hospital for further treatment. He died a short time later.
The Inspectorate of Labour and Mines (ITM) and the forensic team of the criminal investigation department are investigating the cause of the accident.
In a statement, lux-Airport and Lux Cargo Handling confirmed that the victim was a lorry driver from an external company. Psychological support is being provided to staff members who were involved or affected by the incident. Lux-Airport and Lux Cargo Handling extended their condolences to the family of the victim and to all those impacted by the tragic event. They also expressed their gratitude to all emergency services and personnel who responded swiftly and professionally to the incident.
