The Grand Ducal police have reported several arrests following recent burglaries in the Grand Duchy.
On the morning of Thursday 6 February 2025, a burglary was reported in a family home in Um Knupp in Hosingen, in which several perpetrators attempted to gain access. They were, however, surprised by a resident and fled. The police were contacted and immediately initiated a search during which three suspects were arrested. During a subsequent search of a vehicle, the police discovered various items from burglaries . On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, the suspects were arrested and brought before a judge who issued an arrest warrant.
In further incidents, the police reported a burglary in An de Gaalgen in Frisange, on the night of Friday 7 to Saturday 8 February 2025 . Two men were reported to have broken into a garage and a vehicle. Police officers arrived at the scene and discovered the two men still inside the garage and a search revealed possible stolen goods from the vehicle and garage, which were then confiscated. The police also retrieved a small amount of drugs.
Both men were placed under arrest. The police drew up a report against the two suspects who were then fingerprinted.
A burglary was also reported in the early morning of Saturday 8 February 2025 in a bar on Place des Sacrifiés 1940 - 1945 in Esch-sur-Alzette. According to initial information, unknown perpetrators had pushed open the sliding doors of the bar to gain access. The police launched an investigation.
