Mid-afternoon on Friday 3 January 2025, an 85-year-old motorist died in a road traffic accident in the north of the Grand Duchy, close to Wiltz.
The accident happened at around 13:30 in the CR331 between Nocher and Kautenbach.
According to the police, the car collided with a tree; the reasons for the accident were not immediately known.
The 85-year-old driver and his dog, who was also in the vehicle, died at the scene of the accident.
This was the first fatal road traffic accident in Luxembourg in 2025.
