50 Disturbances of the Peace Recorded on Friday Night

The Grand Ducal Police have confirmed that they recorded around 50 cases of disturbances of the peace during the night of Friday 2 August 2024.

Between 22:00 on Friday and 06:00 on Saturday 3 August 2024, various incidents were reported to the police across the country. In most cases, the situations had already calmed down by the time the officers arrived with some others being resolved on-site.

At approximately 22:40, however, an intoxicated man was reported in a car park near the train station in Ettelbruck. He was reportedly harassing and threatening the staff.

The man was located and subjected to a check. As he continued to shout and refused to calm down, the police deemed it necessary to place him under arrest after a medical examination. He also displayed uncooperative and aggressive behaviour while being transported to the police station. The police officers were able to eventually calm him down, and he was subsequently placed in custody.
