The Grand Ducal Police have announced that a suspected drug dealer was arrested on Rue du Parc in Rumelange on Friday 2 August 2024.
In the early evening on Friday, a police patrol noticed an individual who was visibly agitated by the police officers’ presence. When he attempted to flee, he was quickly apprehended due to his suspicious behaviour, the police noted.
A search of the suspect's bag revealed approximately 100 grams of hashish. Further investigations led to the suspicion that the suspect might possess additional drugs, which prompted a house search. The authorities seized around 5 kg of hashish, a small quantity of marijuana and mushrooms. Additionally, an illegal knife, three mobile phones and a significant sum of cash were confiscated.
By order of the public prosecutor's office, the suspect was arrested and brought before the examining magistrate on the morning of Saturday 3 August 2024.
