The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a fatal accident took place at the railway station in Niederkorn on Thursday morning.
At around 05:00 on Thursday 4 April 2024, a young man was hit by a train at the Niederkorn station. He passed away from his injuries shortly afterwards.
In order to clarify the exact circumstances, the Luxembourg public prosecutor's office has launched an investigation and requested an autopsy.
The criminal investigation department of the police was on-site.
Earlier on Thursday, the CFL had reported that trains were disrupted due to a major emergency services intervention in the area. The affected trains gradually resumed from 10:00 on Thursday.
