The Grand Ducal Police has confirmed that a man was arrested in the afternoon of Wednesday 17 January 2024 near the Luxembourg-Gare area, on suspicion of dealing illegal drugs.
The police carried out a check late in the afternoon on Wednesday as part of crime prevention operations. The police officers identified an individual behaving suspiciously. Upon further inspection, the officers noticed the man’s conspicuous swallowing movements, leading to the confiscation of two drug packets from his mouth. Due to suspicions of potential drug dealing, the decision was made to bring him to the police station.
When the man was checked, a total of 43 cocaine capsules and cash were discovered. In the follow-up scanner examination, authorities found at least two more foreign objects in the suspect's body.
On the orders of the public prosecutor, the man was arrested.
