The Grand Ducal Police have reported that in the late afternoon of Thursday 9 June 2022, a 55-year old man died in a serious work accident on a construction site in Ell in western Luxembourg.
According to initial information, a worker who was in a pit several metres deep was buried under falling earth. The victim, from the south of Grand Duchy, was pronounced dead on-site, by the time help arrived.
The public prosecutor's office ordered a forensic examination of the scene to determine the cause of the accident and Luxembourg's Inspectorate of Labour and Mines (Inspection du travail et des mines - ITM) was informed.
