
The Chamber of Deputies (Luxembourg's Parliament) has announced that its security teams intercepted a suspicious package addressed to Chamber President Fernand Etgen on Friday morning.
The Grand Ducal Police confirmed that they had received reports of a suspicious package at the Chamber of Deputies in Luxembourg-Ville at around 10:00 on Friday 25 March 2022.
According to the Chamber, the package was addressed to the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Fernand Etgen, who is currently self-isolating at home following a positive COVID-19 test.
The parliamentary buildings concerned were evacuated and the police established a security perimeter in the immediate vicinity. According to the Chamber, "the situation is under control".
The police confirmed that the all clear was given at around 11:30 and all security measures were lifted after they had investigated the package and determined that it did not contain any dangerous object.
