On Monday 10 January 2022, the Grand Ducal Police reported that a resident died in a house fire in Steinsel this morning.
The alarm was raised at 08:20 that a house on the Rue de la Foret in Steinsel was on fire. When the rescue workers arrived, thick smoke was already visible, which was coming from the house. Since it was assumed that there may still be someone inside the house, the fire department searched it.
A 57-year-old resident who was rescued from the house died at the scene.
The public prosecutor requested the police forensics to clarify the cause of the fire and ordered an autopsy to be carried out.
