The Hygiene department of the Ville de Luxembourg has confirmed that all Christmas trees will be removed during January 2022, as follows:
- Trees that are dyed with spray and / or with decorations will be removed during the weekly rounds of collection of mixed residual waste.
- "Clean" trees, i.e. trees which are not spray-dyed and are without decorations, will be collected separately, also on the day of collection of mixed residual waste, or even the next day, with a view to their composting.
In both cases, it is sufficient to place the tree on the pavement or at the edge of the property before 06:00 on the day of the collection of mixed residual waste (the calendar can be consulted on https://dechets.vdl.lu).
Trees measuring more than two metres must be pruned by cutting them in the middle.
It is also possible to return clean Christmas trees to the recycling centre on the Route d'Arlon, open Mondays to Fridays from 07:00 to 19:30 and on Saturdays from 08:30 to 18:00 (last entry 15 minutes before closing).
