Accident on B7 near Stegen;

On Sunday 26 December 2021, three vehicles were involved in an accident on the B7 near Stegen, between Ettelbruck and Beaufort.
The accident happened at around 13:00; a police patrol was investigating an oil spill when they came across the accident. The Police officers discovered two people lying injured on the ground and they carried out first aid until ambulances arrived. In total, eight people were transported to hospital.
As the police determined the chain of events that led up to the accident, they established that one car was being driven from Diekirch towards Luxembourg. While he attempted to overtake another vehicle in a designated lane, the driver lost control of her car which crashed into oncoming traffic. It collided first with an oncoming car which overturned on the passenger side due to the force of the impact, before there was a head-on collision with another oncoming car.
The section of road was closed to all traffic during the duration of the rescue work.
