On Thursday 23 December 2021, a pedestrian died after being hit by a car in Hagen, near Steinfort.
According to the Grand Ducal Police, the accident happened on 23 December at around 22:00 on the Rue Principale. After seeing the pedestrian, a 59 year-old resident of Hagen, the motorist swerved but hit the pedestrian before colliding with the wall of a house. The pedestrian was taken to hospital by ambulance for what were described as life-threatening injuries.
The pedestrian, died of her injuries in hospital on Saturday 25 December.
The police also confirmed that, following communication from the public prosecutor's office, the car of the motorist who is understood to have caused the accident, was confiscated. They had also undertaken a forensics examination at the scene of the accident to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident.
