The Grand Ducal Police have confirmed that they are prepared for this coming week-end's demonstrations in Luxembourg-ville.

A demonstration is planned for tomorrow, Saturday 18 December 2021, in Luembourg-ville, with the area between the Glacis car park and the Place de l'Europe in Kirchberg receiving particular attention.

The Police have communicated that they will be present again and will implement measures similar to those of last weekend whey they were supported by colleagues from the Belgium Police and were equipped with water cannons which they ultimately deployed.

The Police have confirmed that, in order to ensure and guarantee the physical security of everyone and to maintain general public order, they have set up a "reinforced system to ensure the progress and supervision of the planned events", as well as to strengthen traffic management, following consultation with the Ville de Luxembourg and with the support of the Ministry of the Interior. Law enforcement units will be ready to intervene if the situation requires it.

The Police have also confirmed that those involved in all infringements will be prosecuted, if necessary after the event itself following analyses and investigations.

Due to the zoning in place, traffic disruptions are to be expected, especially on Saturday afternoon in the vicinity of the Glacis and Place de l'Europe. The police have also advised all other visitors to the capital to be vigilant also beyond the planned zone.

For all emergencies, dangers or suspicious actions, it is imperative for members of the public to immediately cal the emergency number, tel: 113.
