The Grand Ducal Police have confirmed two reports of muggings in the Kinnekswiss Park in the centre of Luxembozrg-ville on Thursday 26 August 2021, both happening at around 21:00.
The first incident involved two girls and a young man who threatened a young woman who was in the company of a friend, demanding she had over cash.
One of the attackers hit the young woman while the second girl pulled at her. After the victim's friend handed cash to the attackers, they let go of her and the three people walked away. The young woman suffered several minor injuries.
In the second incident, a group of three girls attacked two young women and tried to snatch their handbags. While one woman was able to free herself, the other woman was pushed to the ground. Only when she screamed loudly for help did the attackers let go of her and ran away empty-handed. One of the victims suffered several minor injuries.
The police were notified; however, in both cases, the attackers could not be found. In each case complaints were made and investigations were initiated.
