On Sunday 8 August 2021, a young man was mugged by a group of what the Grand Ducal Police have described as young men, in Grevenmacher.
The incident happened at around 22:00 at a bus stop on the Route du Vin. According to the police report, the victim was assaulted and was robbed of his wallet. Despite being injured, he managed to run off and contacted the police.
A police patrol arrived at the scene of the crime whereupon two of the young men tried to flee on foot. One was caught after just a few metres but the other escaped. Another two people who had remained at the scene were amongst the three people who were questioned by the police.
A criminal complaint has been filed and a formal investigation has been initiated.
