The Grand Ducal Police have launched a call for witnesses after a major fire broke out at the old Brasserie de Luxembourg Mousel-Diekirch.

At around 00:30 on Sunday 18 April 2021, the Luxembourg emergency services received reports of a large fire at the former national brewery in Diekirch.

According to the Grand-Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (Corps grand-ducal d'incendie et de secours - CGDIS), more than 100 firefighters mobilised throughout the night to put out the blaze. The fire was brought under control at around 02:30, although firefighters continued to work until morning. No one was injured in the fire.

Police have not ruled out the possibility of arson and have thus launched an investigation. Anyone with information about the incident, particularly relating to suspicious individuals or vehicles in the vicinity around the time of the fire, is asked to contact the Diekirch police station via tel.: 244-801000 or email: police.diekirchvianden@police.etat.lu.
