According to local media reports, a court investigation has been launched in light of serious allegations made against an unnamed senior police official in Luxembourg.
A director of the northern region’s police department reportedly stands accused of illegal exploitation and fraud.
In relation to this judicial investigation, searches were carried out on Tuesday in the services of the General Police Directorate as well as in the Directorate of the Northern Region police.
The judicial administration confirmed Tuesday afternoon that the investigation was targeting the Director of the North Region of the Police. He is suspected of illegal interest taking and computer fraud.
A spokesperson stressed that the principle of presumption of innocence until proven guilty applies.
