The Luxembourg Police have launched a call for witnesses following a mugging incident in Esch-sur-Alzette.

Around 19:30 on Wednesday evening, a woman was waiting at a bus stop on Rue des Acacias in Esch-sur-Alzette when three men approached her. One of the perpetrators reportedly threatened the woman with a knife and demanded money, whilst a second man stole her phone. The third man was present but did not take action. The woman complied and gave the muggers her wallet, after which the three men fled the scene.

At noon on Thursday, the woman filed a lawsuit following the incident.

Based on this testimony, the police have described the perpetrators as follows:

  • First perpetrator: Male of Eastern European origin with a stocky build and an estimated height of 1.80 metres. The man is also described as having a three-day beard and wearing green shoes and a black "Redskin" jacket;
  • Second perpetrator: Male of Eastern European origin with an estimated height of 1.65 metres. He is described as between the ages of 25-30 years, having short shaved hair and wearing black shoes and black Adidas clothing with white stripes;
  • Third perpetrator: Male of Eastern European origin with a thin build and an estimated height of 1.80 metres. He is also described as having short shaved hair and wearing beige trousers and a black coat.
