On Friday, reports emerged that a student at the Lycée technique Mathias-Adam de Pétange (LTMA) had allegedly threatened to carry out a school shooting.
According to reports from other Luxembourg media, the police have confirmed that the minor had announced plans to carry out the shooting at their school on social media. A classmate reportedly saw the statement and informed the school, who then contacted the police.
The authorities took the alleged perpetrator into custody before he/she could carry out the threat.
Further reports have since suggested that the threat was the result of a lost bet.
