Due to the entry into force of new legislation, the Luxembourg Water Management Authority has become the responsible body for flood forecasting of the Moselle.

The revision of the applicable laws in the field of water management and inland navigation has made it possible to harmonise the allocations for flood forecasting. As of 1 May 2019, the Water Management Authority is the competent authority for flood forecasting for all Luxembourg rivers, including the Moselle.

This work will be carried out in close cooperation with the Navigation Service, which is still responsible for regulating and forecasting water levels for users of the waterway.

All information concerning flood management and current and historical water levels is available on the website: www.inondations.lu
