The coffin of His Royal Highness Grand Duke Jean arrived on Sunday afternoon at the Grand Ducal Palace in Luxembourg-ville from Berg Castle; the public can pay their last respects to the late statesman at the chapel from Monday 29 April to Friday 3 May 2019.
Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, accompanied by the Crown Princes and the Grand Duke's brothers and sisters, yesterday blessed the mortal remains of His Royal Highness Grand Duke Jean, exhibited in the chapel at the Grand Ducal Palace after his transfer from Berg Castle.
Members of the Luxembourg Parliament, the Government and Mayors and Aldermen, along with various representatives of the national authorities, also came to pay a last tribute to Grand Duke Jean.
As a reminder, members of the public wishing to pay a last tribute to His Royal Highness are invited to visit the chapel on the following days and times: Monday 29 April from 14:00 - 19:00; Tuesday 30 April from 10:00 - 12:00 and from 14:00 - 19:00; Wednesday 1 May from 10:00 - 19:00; Thursday 2 May from 10:00 - 12:00 and from 14:00 - 19:00; Friday 3 May from 10:00 - 12:00 and from 14:00 - 16:00. There will also be books of condolence available for the public to sign.
Grand Duke Jean's funeral will take place this Saturday 4 May 2019 at 11:00 in the Notre Dame Cathedral of Luxembourg.
