The public is invited to pay their last respects to His Royal Highness Grand Duke Jean, whose coffin will be transferred to the Grand Ducal Palace on Sunday 28 April 2019.
The coffin of Grand Duke Jean will be transferred from Berg Castle this Sunday at 14:30 to arrive at the Grand Ducal Palace around 15:00. The remains will then be exhibited at the chapelle ardente at the Palace from Monday 29 April 2019.
Members of the public wishing to pay a last tribute to His Royal Highness are invited to visit the chapel on the following days and times: Monday 29 April from 14:00 - 19:00; Tuesday 30 April from 10:00 - 12:00 and from 14:00 - 19:00; Wednesday 1 May from 10:00 - 19:00; Thursday 2 May from 10:00 - 12:00 and from 14:00 - 19:00; Friday 3 May from 10:00 - 12:00 and from 14:00 - 16:00.
A book of condolences will also be available for the public to sign next week across Luxembourg, in honour of His Royal Highness Grand Duke Jean. The book of condolences will be open to the public from Monday 29 April 2019 until Friday 3 May 2019. At the town hall in Place Guillaume II in Luxembourg-ville, it will be available on the Monday between 10:00 and 18:00 and on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 08:00 to 18:00. It will be closed on Wednesday 1 May.
At the same time, a book of condolences will be displayed at the guard posts of the Grand Ducal Palace, as well as those of Berg Castle and Fischbach Castle.
At the Palace, the public will also be able to leave messages of condolence at the exit of the chapelle ardente. Citizens are thus invited to leave their messages of affection in this book, in memory of His Royal Highness Grand Duke Jean.
Finally, Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess have expressed the wish that the public join the funeral mass celebrated in memory of His Royal Highness Grand Duke Jean, which will take place on 4 May 2019 at 11:00 in the Notre Dame Cathedral of Luxembourg. Places are limited and offered on a first-come basis. Registration will open on Monday 29 April 2019 at 09:00 via website www.monarchie.lu or via tel.: 474-874810.
