Police Make Two Drug-Related Arrests, Call for Car Theft Witnesses

The Luxembourg Police made two drug-related arrests over the weekend in the capital and have also launched a call for witnesses of a car theft in Roost.

On Sunday 22 April 2019, police officers arrested two suspects for illegal drug possession in Luxembourg City. During a police operation in a flat on Rue Anatole France, officers detected the strong smell of marijuana. Following a house search, the police found and secured a total of 464.9 grams of cannabis products and 6.3 grams of cocaine. The suspects were subsequently arrested by order of the public prosecutor's office.

Then, on Sunday night, unknown offenders gained access to two car dealerships and stole several cars in the Zone Artisanale & Commerciale Jauschwis in Roost (Bissen). The perpetrators stole ignition keys from the premises, with which they then used to steal various new parked cars. The stolen vehicles were mainly new DS cars, an Audi Q2 with the Luxembourg number plate XX6351, a light blue Peugeot van with the Luxembourg number plate WJ8008 and several bicycles.
