Following the death of His Royal Highness Grand Duke Jean, Luxembourg has entered a state of mourning.
In light of the news of the late Grand Duke's passing, the Cabinet met today for an extraordinary meeting under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Xavier Bettel. The government observed a minute of silence in memory of the deceased.
The government then proclaimed national mourning until 18:00 on Saturday 4 May 2019, when the official funeral and church ceremony has taken place. During national mourning, flags will be half-masted on buildings and public places.
