An accident at a construction site in Mamer and an unrelated road accident on the CR159 in Luxembourg have resulted in serious injuries for those involved.

On Tuesday morning, three workers were scaffolding to replace a window at a height of approximately 6.5 metres on a construction site on Route d'Arlon, Mamer. The window which weighs several hundred kilograms should have been taken out of the outer wall with the help of a crane. At around 11:00, however, the scaffolding tipped over and the three workers fell to the ground. One of them sustained serious injuries and was hospitalised, another was slightly injured and the third did not suffer any injuries. A business inspection has since been carried out on site.

In a separate incident, shortly after 15:00 on 9 April 2019, a car and a motorcycle were involved in a road accident between Itzig and Sandweiler. The incident resulted in serious injuries for the motorcyclist and the temporary closure of the lane for rescue and recovery work.
