On Tuesday, on two separate incidents, a young woman was attacked in Esch-sur-Alzette and a man was attacked with a knife in the Luxembourg-Gare district.

At around 09:10 on Tuesday morning, two unknown men attacked a young woman in an underpass in the direction of Boulevard Charles de Gaulle in Esch-sur-Alzette. The victim was walking in the underpass, when a voice from behind asked her to stop. The young woman did not comply with this request, whereupon the attacker pushed against her shoulder, causing her to fall to the ground. One of the perpetrators then kicked her in the stomach before both men fled in the direction of Rue Henri Koch/Boulevard Charles de Gaulle. The victim was taken to hospital for a medical examination.

The perpetrators have not yet been found, although an investigation has begun. They are described as young men with a southern look, both about 1.80 metres tall and dressed in dark blue jeans. One of the men spoke Luxembourgish with a southern accent. The first man wore a dark brown hoodie and grey shoes, whilst the other wore a dark blue hooded sweater from Nike and Vans shoes. A second assault occurred at 22:00 on Tuesday evening, when a stranger attacked a man with a kife on Rue de Strasbourg. The victim was taken to hospital with a non-life-threatening neck injury. The attacker fled in an unknown direction and could not be found in the immediately initiated search. Further investigations have been launched. The offender is described as a North African male, around 30 years old, of normal build and about 1.70 metres tall. He has short dark hair and bad teeth. The perpetrator was dressed in a dark hoodie, black pants and dark trainers at the time of the attack. All relevant information should be forwarded to the Luxembourg Police via tel.: +352 4997 4500.
