On Wednesday 27 March 2019, Luxembourg Minister for Tourism, Lex Delles, presented eighteen official "EureWelcome" plaques to actors from various sectors, including hotels and restaurants, to reward them for barrier-free offers.

According to the General Directorate for Tourism, the "EureWelcome" label symbolises the existence of reliable information on the degree of accessibility and willingness of decision-makers as well as that of their employees to welcome each customer and visitor in a caring and helpful manner. The infrastructures bearing the label guarantee a high quality of service and must fulfil a variety of criteria including a parking space for disabled people, a certain width of the doors or barrier-free access to the entrance of the building.

The label has existed since 2004. For several years now, the General Directorate for Tourism has co-operated with the Info-Handicap information centre to promote and reward the "barrier-free" implementation of infrastructures, services and events.

Tourism Minister Lex Delles said: "The concept of 'Design for All' and the 'EureWelcome' label reflect our desire to plan and implement tourist attractions and other events and services so that diversity of users has access to it without disadvantaging or excluding certain groups from the population. This is in line with our desire to offer a quality tourism offer for all."

The following establishments and infrastructures received the "EureWelcome" label in 2019:

  • Novotel Luxembourg Centre (Luxembourg)
