In the early hours of last Saturday to Sunday, a group of young people assaulted railway staff at the Oetrange train station.
The incident unfolded when a train attendant asked a group of young people to stay away from the train tracks. In response, the adolescents assaulted the train attendant and the mechanic assisting him. The assault led to the hospitalisation of the two staff members.
The CFL has since expressed its sadness and shock at this aggression and has condemned this "unacceptable behaviour towards its agents who work daily to guarantee the safety of customers". The CFL has also stated its intent to support the injured staff members and their families as well as its decision to file a complaint against this assault.
The evening before this incident, police similarly received reports of a dispute in the Luxembourg-Gare district (Avenue de la Gare/Rue de Bonnevoie). Around 01:30, several people got involved in a dispute that led to the injury of one person. Suffering several stab wounds, the individual was taken to hospital for further medical treatment. In order to clarify the exact circumstances, the Luxembourg-Gare police have asked that witnesses to the incident contact them via tel.: (+352) 24429-500.
