On Saturday afternoon, the Esch police received an emergency call that an armed robbery had taken place on a tobacco shop on Rue Xavier Brasseur.
Around 16:00 on Saturday 2 March 2019, two hooded young men stormed into the shop, one of them threatening the staff with a gun while the other went behind the counter and stole the cash from the till. Following the crime, the two alleged perpetrators escaped in the direction of the post office building on Rue Zenon Bernard.
According to police descriptions, both individuals wore black gloves and spoke French without a specific accent. The alleged armed offender was reportedly wearing a dark hoodie under a dark jacket and light blue jeans. He had short light brown hair and blue eyes. The second man was wearing a green jacket, a backpack and jeans. Both appeared thin and are estimated to be around 180cm tall and 20-25 years old.
