Luxembourg's Ministry of Social Security and the Caisse Nationale de Santé (CNS) have announced that two officials working at the CNS have been suspended from duty following an investigation which revealed that certain funds have been diverted.
The agents concerned were immediately suspended from their jobs and the CNS undertook various internal and legal steps necessary as soon as the facts were known. As a result, a complaint was filed and the judicial authorities were notified.
The President of the CNS, Christian Oberlé, convened a special meeting of the CNS Board of Directors, which took place late afternoon today, Monday 4 February 2019, to inform the members of the facts.
Luxembourg's Minister of Social Security, Romain Schneider, is to inform the members of the parliamentary committee on Labour, Employment and Social Security of the facts at a meeting of the committee tomorrow, Tuesday 5 February 2019.
At this stage, no further information will be divulged by the authorities so as not to hinder the investigation.
