20 Year-Old Driver Dies in N12 Accident

On Thursday 27 December 2018, a serious car accident on the N12 road claimed the life of a 20 year-old driver and left three passengers critically injured.

The accident happened at around 22:45 on the N12 between Troisvierges and Drinklange. A car with four occupants was being driven from Troisvierges. As it was taking a left-hand corner, it veered into the roadside ditch and hit a tree.

The 20 year-old driver was declared at the scene of the accident; the front-seat passenger and two rear passengers were critically injured and were brought to hospital by ambulance.

The police undertook a forensics examination of the scene of the accident to determine the exact cause of the accident. In the meantime, the road was closed in both directions to all traffic for a number of hours.

The police have called for witnesses to the accident. Already, one local resident heard the sound of the accident and saw another car which was driven off in the direction of Drinklange. The police would like to talk with the occupants of this vehicle as they believe that they can provide useful information about the accident.
