The Hygiene service of the Ville de Luxembourg has announced to its residents that all Christmas trees will be removed in January 2019, according to the following guidelines.

- Spray-dyed and / or decorated trees will be removed during weekly collection rounds of residual mixed waste.
- The "clean" trees, i.e. those which are not dyed with spray and are without decoration, will be collected separately, also on the same day as the collection of residual waste, or the next day, for the purpose of composting.

In both cases, it is sufficient to place the fir tree on the footpath or at the edge of the property before 06:00 on the day of collection of residual mixed waste (the schedule is available at http://dechets.vdl.lu).

Note: fir trees measuring more than two metres must be cut in the middle.

It is also possible to return Christmas trees to the recycling centre on Route d'Arlon, open Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 19:30 and Saturday from 08:30 to 18:00 (last entry 10 minutes before closing).
