On Sunday 16 October 2016, Ireland's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Charles Flanagan, was in the Grand Duchy for a meeting with Luxembourg's Minister for Foreign and European Affairs, Jean Asselborn.
The discussions between the two focused on the effects of Brexit would have on the two countries. The Ministers have agreed on the need to reach an arrangement that is acceptable to Luxembourg, Ireland and the EU in general, while ensuring full respect for the fundamental values of the Union.
The meeting also allowed the ministers to look into the excellent bilateral relations between the Grand Duchy and Ireland, as well review European and international politics.
