On Thursday evening, an employee of Goodyear in Colmar-Berg suffered a serious leg injury in an accident at the company's premises.

The incident occurred at around 22:45. While operating a working machine, the man fell under a 2.5 ton heavy roll. The machines were immediately stopped and he was taken to hospital where he was operated on overnight. An investigation was launched into the exact cause of the accident.

In the early hours of Saturday morning, Goodyear released a statement "We can confirm an accident occurred overnight involving an employee in our plant in Colmar-Berg. He was immediately taken to hospital and is receiving treatment. We are working closely with our colleague and his family to support them at this time. Thorough investigations are still ongoing and we are cooperating fully with authorities to identify the circumstances of the accident."
