On Saturday morning, a 68 year-old man was slightly injured following an explosion in his car in Bergem.

The police were informed at around 09:40 and discovered the damaged vehicle. They informed the public prosecutor who assigned the Judicial Police Service to undertake an investigation.

During the afternoon, a suspect was arrested in Germany; the suspect is understood to be the victim's son. This followed a search in Dudelange in which several homes were evacuated.

The police have ruled out terrorism as a motive behind the explosion. the investigation is continuing.
