Ric Linder, a contemporary, figurative and abstract artist with strong links to Luxembourg, has announced that he is bringing his new exhibition to the Foundry in Luxembourg-Hollerich (38 Route d'Esch, L-1470) next month.

Originally from Sweden, where he is currently based, Ric Linder lived in Luxembourg for over fifteen years. He has 20+ years of international exhibitions and commissions under his belt. Most recently, he exhibited a solo show at the Foundry in Luxembourg in 2022. He was also involved in Bâtiment 4 and the Cueva artist collective in recent years.

Ric has a B.F.A. in Illustration from Savannah College of Art And Design. He works primarily on unstretched canvas, uses acrylic, spray paint, markers and other mixed media, always experimenting with materials to see reactions and create accidents. The artist noted that he draws "deep inspiration" from both the music he listens to and the music he creates, with his studio - doubling as his living room - constantly filled with sounds that drive his artistic process.

Words and poetry play a "crucial" role in Ric’s art. He incorporates text into his pieces, reflecting his current mood, the subject matter or whatever happens to be on his mind at that time. Some of these words reveal their meaning as the artwork takes shape, while others remain deliberately enigmatic, left to speak for themselves. Ric described his journey as an artist as "ever-evolving".

The exhibition opening is taking place at the Foundry on Thursday 3 October 2024 from 18:00. The artworks will remain on display until Monday 16 December 2024.
