The Luxembourg European Association of Performing Arts (LEAPA) will present “Embrace your Speaking Voice: a workshop for everyone!” on Wednesday 12 February 2025 from 19:00-21:00, at the Foyer Européen, Luxembourg-Gare (10 Rue Heinrich Hein).
Radio host, improviser and voice-over artist, Melissa Dalton will host the event which will focus on training one’s voice to its full potential in order to become a better communicator and public speaker.
According to LEAPA: “We all rely on our voice every single day to communicate but have you ever trained your voice to enable you to be a better communicator, to have your opinions be heard or to be a better public speaker? Have you ever been in a situation where you feel like people do not hear you, or understand your pronunciation, or you get nervous when you have to speak in a meeting or in front of a crowd? Well, much like the muscles we train at the gym, our voice is also a muscle that can be trained and nurture”.
The workshop will focus on theatre and improvisation techniques, diction, projection, correct breathing and resonance. There will also be a strong focus on play and exploration of the voice.
The workshop will be held in English, but it is not necessary to be a native or fluent speaker. Previous experience in performing is also not required.
Tickets cost €20 for members, €25 for non-members. Registration is required before Friday 7 February 2025, via email: info@leapa.eu
