The Ensemble Vocal du Luxembourg has announced an "EVL and Friends' New Year Concert" to be held on Tuesday 16 January 2024 at 20:00 at the Auditorium of the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg to celebrate the New Year in music.

This concert, the first in a series of New Year concerts involving a guest ensemble, will see the Ensemble Vocal du Luxembourg team up with Ensemble85 – Männerkammerchor as guest ensemble in a program entitled “Transcription and Transgressions”.

These unique concerts will highlight a varied repertoire, ranging from timeless classical works to daring contemporary creations. The harmony of voices, the richness of the arrangements and the passion of the guest artists promise to create an incomparable musical experience.

This concert will be conducted by Matthias Rajczyk, with Katrin Reifenrath on piano. It promises a captivating musical journey that repels the limits between solo singing and choral music and explores new frontiers. Under the title “Transcription and Transgressions”, not only two high-level ensembles come together, but also transcriptions of well-known solo melodies from French Romanticism and Impressionism and works for men's choir that courageously challenge the conventional forms of male choral literature. “Transcription and Transgressions” promises a musical experience that will stay with you.

For this unforgettable musical journey, tickets cots €10 each and are available from https://www.luxembourgticket.lu.
