On Sunday 4 May 2025, biodynamic educational farm Kass-Haff held its annual “Kass-Haff Fest” celebration to raise awareness about biodiversity in Luxembourg.
The event, held at Kass-Haff farm near Rollingen/Mersch, attracted approximately 1,500 people and featured a "Bio-Second Hand" market, a variety of organic food offerings, live concerts and performances, as well as activities for children and adults, including the opportunity to interact with farm animals.
Speaking to Chronicle.lu about the event, Fundraising, Partnerships & Communication Manager at Kass-Haff, Romain Gauthier, said: “This is the big open day of Kass-Haff that we have once a year. The mission [of Kass-Haff] is to bring more awareness about sustainable agriculture and nature to Luxembourg citizens and this is what we do every day. We have classes coming for educational visits. The farm is open every day and people come after school and during the weekend.” He described the Kass-Haff Fest as a special invitation where people can meet the farm’s partners at each of the different stands and learn about initiatives and alternative shops in Luxembourg. “People gather to discover the farm, play with tools and feed the animals”, he added.
Kass-Haff is a biodynamic educational farm whose mission is to encourage the reappropriation of sustainable, local agriculture and to develop a different relationship with the land, nature, animals and our food. The farm, which welcomes approximately 50,000 visitors per year, was built with buildings open to the public (school group visits, activities with people with special needs, family outings, etc.).
Kass-Hass Fest was organised with the support of the non-profit organisation Frënn vum Kass-Haff, in partnership with: BIOG; Naturata; Bio-Lëtzebuerg; Etika; Mokidi; GreenFox; Lilynatur; the Waldorf School; Vitalschnuffen; Traiteur Niessen; Caves Sunnen-Hoffmann; and Addi a Merci.
