On Monday 20 January 2025, Luxembourg’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture issued a press release informing the public of the misuse of photographs from Minister Martine Hansen's Facebook account.
The ministry named Tatjana Baskewitsch as the person who misused the images, in order to falsely suggest that the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture supports the so-called "Tatjana-Stiftung" foundation.
The ministry clarified that the photographs used are in no way related to this organisation, but were taken at other events. Minister Hansen is reported as not knowing Tatjana Baskewitsch and not supporting this so-called foundation in any way.
The ministry added that Minister Hansen has reported this fraudulent content to Facebook, to the BEE SECURE stopline and has filed a complaint with the public prosecutor. The minister has expressed the hope that these measures will allow this content to be removed as soon as possible.
The ministry has asked the public to be vigilant and not to be deceived by this misleading communication, adding that neither the minister nor the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture support this initiative.
