Luxembourg's Ministry of Agriculture, Viticulture and Rural Development and the City of Luxembourg have announced the appointment of Thierry Lutgen as general coordinator of the first national horticultural exhibition in Luxembourg, the LUGA 2023 - Luxembourg Urban Garden, which will take place between May and October 2023.

As former deputy managing director of the Elisabeth group and active participant in initiatives such as LEADER Éislek, Semaine du goût, Gesond Iessen Méi Bewegen (GIMB) and Sou schmaacht Lëtzebuerg, Thierry Lutgen has proven experience as in federating ideas and producing large-scale structures. He is also a longtime defender of local producers and their products.

2018 winner of the National Research Fund's "AWARD" for the public promotion of research, his motto is that "the return to local culture will generate not only a climate reversal but also a strengthening of community life in the districts".

Thierry Lutgen will assume his role as general coordinator within the ASBL LUGA 2023 - Luxembourg Urban Garden from 3 February 2020 and will share his ideas in mid-February 2020 during a press briefing.

The LUGA 2023 - Luxembourg Urban Garden is organised and co-financed equaly by the Ministry of Agriculture, Viticulture and Rural Development and the City of Luxembourg, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Culture, the General Inspectorate of Finance and the Luxembourg Horticultural Federation.
